NYOS Charter School—Not Your Ordinary School—is a free, public charter school that was founded in 1998 by a group of parents who wanted more out of education for their children. It is through a commitment to our students, our staff and our academic excellence that we have been able to grow to serving more than 1,000 students in PreK through 12th grade.

As a tuition-free, public charter school, NYOS receives about $700 less per student in government funding compared to traditional public schools. NYOS Charter School's academic results are substantially higher than those of surrounding schools, and as a charter school, we rely on the support of our school community to continue our commitment of academic success.

School Cafe

Below are the instructions for how Parents/Guardians and their students can register with School Café at schoolcafe.com. To “Add Student(s)” to your School Café account, you will need your student’s First Name, Last Name, and Student ID Number. This information can be found in Skyward. All NYOS Food Service transactions will go through School Café. Cash or check options are not accepted.

Video tutorials for using School Cafe are Available in our Parent University.

Fridays from 1PM - 3PM, the Cafeteria Manager is available, in the front reception area of Building 2 (two), for parents to come in and get assistance setting up their School Cafe accounts and/or filling out their Free & Reduced Meal applications.
