NYOS Charter School—Not Your Ordinary School—is a free, public charter school that was founded in 1998 by a group of parents who wanted more out of education for their children. It is through a commitment to our students, our staff and our academic excellence that we have been able to grow to serving more than 1,000 students in PreK through 12th grade.

As a tuition-free, public charter school, NYOS receives about $700 less per student in government funding compared to traditional public schools. NYOS Charter School's academic results are substantially higher than those of surrounding schools, and as a charter school, we rely on the support of our school community to continue our commitment of academic success.

Vaccine Availability

Vaccines are widely available (currently for those 5+ years old) and the more eligible students and families who get vaccinated, the less interruptions and COVID-19 illness there will be throughout the school year. NYOS will disseminate information about when younger children become eligible for vaccination and about any recommendations for vaccine booster shots in the event such recommendations are made.
