Description

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Students model the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a counseling and mental health career through simulated environments.  Students are expected to apply knowledge of ethical and legal responsibilities, limitations and the implications of their actions.  Professional integrity in counseling and mental health care is dependent on acceptance of ethical and legal responsibilities.

You can choose to either create a poster or a PowerPoint that you will present about the birth defect that you have been assigned. On that poster/in the presentation, you will need to illustrate the following information through pictures and/or words. 

 

 

  • What is the birth defect? (Tell us about it)

 

  • How does a person get it? (Is it genetic, environmental, chromosomal, etc.)

 

  • Can it be prevented? How?

 

  • Who can get it?

 

  • What can be done for the child once it is born?

 

  • When can this be detected?

Assignment: You will be creating a presentation on your assigned theorist.  You presentation must include the following:

  • Area of research
  • Process of research (explain the study or the practices used in research)
  • Age of children researched
  • Research’s Findings
  • Similar studies that followed your researcher’s findings
  • Do you think the results of your researcher’s findings are accurate? Do you see those findings in the real world or believe them to be true?
  • If you were to complete this study today, considering modern technology, society & current research practices, how would you propose this NEW research study?
  • Works cited page using MLA format
