NYOS Charter School—Not Your Ordinary School—is a free, public charter school that was founded in 1998 by a group of parents who wanted more out of education for their children. It is through a commitment to our students, our staff and our academic excellence that we have been able to grow to serving more than 1,000 students in PreK through 12th grade.

Donate & Support

As a tuition-free, public charter school, NYOS receives about $700 less per student in government funding compared to traditional public schools. NYOS Charter School's academic results are substantially higher than those of surrounding schools, and as a charter school, we rely on the support of our school community to continue our commitment of academic success.

NYOS Elementary Free Book Exchange

What: NYOS Elementary Free Book Exchange

Where: Kramer

Pre-K through third grade will be choosing free books at the free book exchange on May 19 in the Kramer gym. Fourth and fifth grade will also get to choose free gently used books donated by the NYOS families or Half Price Books for the summer in the commons area at the Lamar campus in the portable B area.

We are collecting books if you have books that you are ready to donate to the free book exchange. It is not a requirement that you donate books for all students to get free books for the summer.

You can donate books at the Kramer campus in the admin building to Lisa Boone. If you have questions please email [email protected]
