NYOS Charter School—Not Your Ordinary School—is a free, public charter school that was founded in 1998 by a group of parents who wanted more out of education for their children. It is through a commitment to our students, our staff and our academic excellence that we have been able to grow to serving more than 1,000 students in PreK through 12th grade.

As a tuition-free, public charter school, NYOS receives about $700 less per student in government funding compared to traditional public schools. NYOS Charter School's academic results are substantially higher than those of surrounding schools, and as a charter school, we rely on the support of our school community to continue our commitment of academic success.

Bethany Hegedus will be speaking to the Pre-K through 5th grade classes about her new book, Grandfather Gandhi, that she co-wrote with Arun Gandhi, illustrated by Evan Turk. It is an amazing message of choosing to live in the light! We will be selling her book, so please look for a flyer coming home with your students soon. Please join us for her amazing book. She will be speaking at the Kramer campus at 8:30 am and the Lamar campus at 11:30 am.
