Welcome to the NYOS High School’s T.A.F.E. Page!!!!

T.A.F.E. is the first National qualifying co-curricular student organization at NYOS.  

The Texas Association of Future Educators or TAFE (pronounced "taffy") is a co-curricular statewide non-profit (501 c3) student organization.

T.A.F.E. is a student leadership organization that offers high school students the opportunity to explore careers in education.  Workshops, contests, scholarships, retreats, and other activities promote leadership, service, and character.

TAFE Mission:

TAFE encourages students to learn about careers in education and assists them in exploring the teaching profession while promoting character, service, and leadership skills necessary for becoming effective educators.  

TAFE Pledge:

As a TAFE member, I hereby pledge to promote positive attitudes regarding all noble aspects of education, to acknowledge the challenging role of the teaching profession, and to provide service and leadership within my school and community.

TAFE proudly supports the work of the Educators Rising Organization (formally Future Educators Association)  and each year a delegation of TAFE's top student leaders attend the National Conference to represent the lone star state.

Not only did we make it to nationals for the last three years, (2014-2017) we have consistently placed in the top 10 in each competition that advanced. 

Educators Rising is the international extension of T.A.F.E. that is dedicated to supporting young people interested in education-related careers.  Its members are given personal growth opportunities to develop the traits and skills found in high-quality leaders.
