Jag Cafeteria

Welcome to NYOS Food Service Department website. As part of our education program, NYOS participates in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs. Our food service program is under the guidelines and policies set forth by the United States Department of Agriculture and state agencies that monitor compliance.

The NYOS cafeteria is looking forward to serving your child(ren) breakfast and lunch each day! We offer Free and Reduced meals for students who qualify. It is important for those who qualify or for those who think they may qualify, to complete the required application and submit as quickly as possible. If your child was on the Free and Reduced Program last year you will still need to fill out a new application for this year. These forms will be available in the registration packet or you may stop by the front desk or cafeteria to pick one up. Families who currently receive government assistance should submit their paperwork with the application. Until Free and Reduced applications are approved in the food service office, parents are responsible for any meals eaten, and charged into the student account.

NYOS now offers RevTrak for online payments for student meals at  https://nyos.revtrak.net/student-fee-payments/. The system provides parents with an opportunity to add money, and check the balance of their child(ren)’s account at the Skyward Parent Portal. There is a $2.00 charge for each transaction. However, if you have more than one student at NYOS, you will only be charged $2.00 if you are adding funds to more than one student account within the same transaction. Credit card fees may also apply.  Parents may also pay by check or cash to the cafeteria cashiers. Skyward Parent Portal also offers a very convenient and fast payment option to all the households, this feature can be found at the cafeteria tab at your parent portal. NYOS will allow students to charge up to three meals on their cafeteria account after their funds have been exhausted. Students will then receive three sandwich meals after they have exhausted their three charge meals.  Any negative balances must be paid within 5 business days. NYOS will not charge a fee or interest on negative balances and will allow the parent the option to enter a payment plan for repayment on the account balance.

Our cafeteria also sells snacks to Middle and High School students. Snacks may only be purchased between the hours of 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM and are not sold during breakfast and lunch hours. Our cafeteria pre-ordering feature will no longer be available for this school year. Menus will be posted monthly on the cafeteria section of our website under the "Preferred Meals" tab, and students will be able to pick their breakfast and/or lunch options during the meal service hours.  If you have any questions, please contact  Food Services Manager Arthur Elizalde at aelizalde@nyos.org.
