PAPER ORDER FORMS
If you cannot order online, please contact the NYOS cafeteria for a paper order form. Paper order forms have the same due dates as the online pre-orders. You may pre-order your meals weekly or monthly.
NYOS Cafeteria Pre-ordering Instructions
***IMPORTANT*** The Pre-Order deadline is Monday at 6:00 PM the week BEFORE service
Students will be required to pre-order and pre-pay for meals. The deadline for meal orders is Monday at 6PM for the week before service. Please see the ordering instructions below.
NYOS is using Preferred Meals to manage student cafeteria accounts and pre-orders. Preferred Meals offers free online and phone support, so please do not hesitate to contact them with any questions you may have. Preferred Meals also offers a free and convenient app to allow you to manage your student’s account from anywhere.
FORGET TO PRE-ORDER? NO PROBLEM!
If you did not pre-order for your student, your student may still receive a meal the day of service. Please have your student(s) walk through the cafeteria line. Our cafeteria staff will always have back-up meals prepared for students who did not bring a breakfast or lunch for the day. If a pre-order is not received by the Sunday at midnight deadline, students are not guaranteed a Preferred Meals meal of their choice.
If your student does not pick up their pre-ordered and paid for meal, a reimbursement may not be issued. We apologize for this inconvenience. A reimbursement will not be issued because the food has already been ordered, delivered, and prepared for your student.
If your student participates in the Free and Reduced Meal Program, please create an online account. Your student will be issued credit in the payment system. This will allow your student to pre-order meals. Students that participate in the Free and Reduced Meal Program can pre-order their meals using Preferred Meals. Please contact the Food Service Manager with any questions.
Parents who do not have internet access may request a paper order form from the cafeteria.
Add a Pre-Order Reminder to your Personal Calendar:
CALENDAR REMINDER FOR CAFTERIA PRE-ORDER DEADLINES NOW AVAILABLE
Do you have a hard time remembering to pre-order meals by the Monday 6:00PM deadline? If so, we have created calendar reminders for you! Please find the calendar reminder links below. If you are using the Google calendar reminder, please see the additional instructions for Google users below.
** The link to sync to Google calendars does not automatically make it recur. In order for the reminder to repeat every Monday you must select “Repeat” and have it Repeat until May 15th. See the illustration below.
Welcome to the NYOS Food Service Program! We are so excited to partner with Preferred Meals to offer a wide variety of healthy food choices for our students.
This exciting partnership allows parents and students full governorship of their lunch choices. They choose the days they would like to participate, the meals they would like to eat, and the dietary components that are most in alignment with their needs.
Here are the highlights of the program:
- Breakfast costs $3.00 per student
- Lunch costs $4.50 per student
- Families will be required to pre-order and pre-pay for meals
- A doctor's note is required for dietary substitutions. Please request food allergy paperwork from the campus receptionist or you may access it from the “School Health” section on the NYOS website.
If you wish to create an account for your child, please visit Preferred Meals here Once you're in the site, you can manage your student, deposit funds, and pre-order meals for your student.
If you do not have internet access at home, please request a paper order form from cafeteria. Computers are also available on campus for parents to use. Please ask the front desk or cafeteria for locations.
Managing Your Student
When you first create your account, you will need to add your student into the account with a student ID that is assigned to them. If you need that unique student ID, please contact Maggie Mondragon-Munoz at email@example.com
or 512-583-6967 ext. 320.
Once you've added your child into the system, you can deposit funds and order your meals.
Depositing of funds must happen before you are able to order your child's meals. You can deposit as much as you like - the balance will draw down as you add lunches for your student each time.
Parents may also pay by check or cash to the school cafeteria.
****Note: Please make sure you have completely submitted your order on or before the deadline, or your child's lunch will not make it into our final count. Deadlines are always the Monday prior to week of service at 6PM. New monthly menus will be available around the middle of the current month for your viewing.
****Note: If you would like to join your student for lunch on any given day, just select the Faculty/Adult option for yourself on that day and we'll have your lunch ready as well.
Field Trips- you may only order field trip meals on days that your child is on a field trip. Students may not order regular entrée items for field trips because the entrée items will not be ready before the class leaves for the field trip. Field trip meals include a sandwich, whole-grain cracker or trail mix snack, fresh veggie sticks, fresh fruit, and a drink.
Do You Qualify For Free/Reduced Lunch?
Find out! See the Online Meal Plan Application on this site and find out if your family qualifies. If you do, please follow the application instructions and turn it into the Food Service Manager, Maggie Munoz. You may also request paper applications from the front desk or cafeteria. If you qualify, we can set your child up to receive this free or reduced pricing for their lunch. The order site works exactly the same for you - we just need to do a little computer work on the back end, so be sure and let us know!
Last Minute Meals
Students who have not pre-ordered a meal may always come to the cafeteria line and will be served a nutritious meal that complies with the nutrition standards established by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The student is not guaranteed a Revolution Foods meal of their choice. The student account will be billed for each meal.
Students who have forgotten their breakfast or lunch will be fed under the Last Minute Meals procedure above.
If A Student Is Absent Or Does Not Pick Up Their Meal
The meals of students who are absent from school will be discarded or donated back to the meal program if not picked up by the end of the meal service hours. Due to the nature of the ordering system, we cannot issue refunds or credits for absences or unclaimed meals.
We Want To Hear From You!
Thank you so much for being part of this program and partnership with Preferred Meals. We would love to hear from you and your students, so please let us know what you think about the program.
If you have questions or comments, please feel free to contact us at any time. Thank you so much for your support as we nourish our students. Please join us for lunch sometime!
