NYOS Charter School—Not Your Ordinary School—is a free, public charter school that was founded in 1998 by a group of parents who wanted more out of education for their children. It is through a commitment to our students, our staff and our academic excellence that we have been able to grow to serving more than 1,000 students in PreK through 12th grade.

As a tuition-free, public charter school, NYOS receives about $700 less per student in government funding compared to traditional public schools. NYOS Charter School's academic results are substantially higher than those of surrounding schools, and as a charter school, we rely on the support of our school community to continue our commitment of academic success.

We are having great time engineering on a rainy day during indoor recess.

Outdoor School packet ENGLISH 2016

The Austin Zoo was a great chance for us to look at inherited traits, learned behavior, animal habitats, and interdependent relationships. We had a wonderful time.

A picture with the class and Ms. Dubcak we had a great time learning with her all semester.

Our field trip to Wild Basin was amazing. We learned about the natural habit of animals and plants in this area, and even their interdependent relationships.

We brainstormed about an important gift we have received using sidewalk chalk. It was great to be outside although a little windy.
