Foreign Exchange Students

The Foreign Exchange program at NYOS follows the below process. Reach out to [email protected] if you have any questions.

1. Contact NYOS

The Student Foreign Exchange organization should contact NYOS via email to confirm they have available seats.

2. Application

If there are seats available the host family will complete an application on School Mint.

3. School Placement Packet

Next, the Student Foreign Exchange organization should provide NYOS a School Placement Packet via email which will include the following type of information:

  • School Acceptance form - for Principal signature and date agreeing to enroll the student

  • Student name, nationality, academic year, host family contact information, school contact Information

  • Student bio - timeframe, sex, country of birth, home address, email, dob, photo, hobbies/interests

  • Parents/Legal guardian info/relationship - first/last name, phone, email, occupation

  • Guardian release form (signed and dated by student and parents)

  • General consent form (signed and dated by student and parents)

  • Academic agreement (signed and dated by student and parents)

  • Program rules (signed and dated by student and parents)

  • Grade report card with translation

  • Teacher recommendation

  • Medical history

  • Physical examination

  • English language test for international students

  • Immunization record

4. Registration

Once approved/signed by the principal, the Registrar will make an offer to the host family and, once accepted, the host family will begin the registration process by creating an account in Skyward (our Student Management Suite).

5. Academic Schedule

Once the online Registration is completed in Skyward, the academic counselor will be notified and will complete the student's academic schedule and provide the host family with a start date.
