NYOS Moves Up In US News 2017 Ranking of Best US High Schools

US NEWS & WORLD REPORT released their annual high school rankings last week.  This year, US NEWS surveyed 22,000 high schools nationwide.  They look at a variety of factors including Math and English proficiency, AP courses taken, AP tests taken and College Readiness.  Based on their assessment, NYOS received a silver medal.  Only 10.3% of the participant schools received a silver medal.

As you can see below, NYOS improved in each ranking category.  Much like standardized tests are for students, this ranking does not reflect the uniqueness and diversity of our high school program, but gives us a benchmark that helps us assess our goals and objectives.

Congratulations to our hardworking students, families, teachers and administrators.  Achieving an accomplishment like this is truly a team effort.  You can find out more information about the high school rankings at https://www.usnews.com/education/best-high-schools/texas/districts/nyos-charter-school/nyos-charter-school-18332
