Technology & Chromebooks

NYOS Charter School provides information technology/information systems (IT/IS) resources to the NYOS Community for education purposes, including:

  • Email and other electronic forms of communication
  • Access to university library catalogs, the Library of Congress, and various other electronic resources for research purposes
  • Access to the World Wide Web
  • Software applications, including but not limited to the Microsoft Office Suite, tools for desktop publishing, web design software, and multimedia production and manipulation software
  • Any and all internet and networking services provided by or through NYOS Charter School

NYOS Issued Chromebooks

Every NYOS Secondary student in grades 8–12 is issued a Chromebook to support their learning throughout their time at NYOS. Students may use their assigned device until graduation or withdrawal, when it must be returned to the school. In the event a Chromebook is lost or damaged, families are responsible for repair or replacement costs, though optional insurance is available to help protect against these expenses.
