Academic Opportunities

NYOS Charter School is committed to providing students with diverse and rigorous learning opportunities that prepare them for college, career, and life.

In addition to required coursework, NYOS offers a variety of electives and special programs:

  • Career & Technical Education (CTE) – Pathways in Information Technology, Health Science, and Business & Marketing

  • Fine Arts – Visual Arts, Theater, Band, and Choir

  • World Languages – Spanish and other language opportunities to prepare for global citizenship

  • Early College & Dual Credit – College-level coursework through ACC and partner institutions

  • Specialty Electives – Yearbook, Leadership, and enrichment courses that encourage creativity, teamwork, and leadership

Course Selection Events

  • Secondary Course Selection Night
    Each January, we host a Secondary Course Selection Night for rising 8th–12th grade students (current 7th–11th graders) and their parents/guardians.

  • Dual Credit Night
    We also host Dual Credit Nights to help students and families learn more about Early College opportunities. The event date will be announced in our newsletter and on social media.
