Traffic congestion in Central Texas is getting worse. Between a growing population and region-wide construction projects that are reducing road capacity, getting students to and from school is becoming more time-consuming and costly. Long lines at school pickup and drop-off negatively impact student safety and air quality.
To help families save time and money and help schools reduce traffic congestion and the long drop-off/pick-up experience, we’ve launched a partnership with Movability’s SchoolPool Program powered by GoTogether. This secure, online transportation matching platform is accessible only to approved community users.
Screening
When it comes to getting your child to and from school, trust is the real currency we exchange with one another. That’s why background screening is at the core of how we build a safe and reliable SchoolPool community. Every parent or caregiver who participates completes a background screening designed to ensure peace of mind—for you and every family involved.
Screening includes:
- Motor Vehicle Records check
- SSN verification
- Local and national criminal background check
- Review of the Sex Offender Registry.
- Screenings are typically completed within 24-48 hours and cover a 7-year period.
Once approved, you’ll unlock full access to SchoolPool—where you can meet other families, create shared trips, and start making your mornings easier. It’s more than a ride—it’s time back in your day, less time in the pickup line, and the assurance that every trip starts and ends with trust.

Families can pre-register in Movability’s SchoolPool Program powered by Go Together, where they can:

Meet other parents and caregivers interested in carpooling their children to and from school and extracurricular activities—even biking or walking together!

Request and offer a ride

If you live close to school but want to switch off chaperone duties with another parent in the area, organize biking and walking matches.

Set up short-term trips for an event or trips for a season, or for the entire school year.

Complete the Car Pool Interest Form. You will be provided a link from "Checkr" to start the background check.

Complete Background Screening - Any parent or caregiver who will offer or seek ride support must first complete a background screening.

NYOS will review/approve the background check. The background screening will be available in English and Spanish

If approved, you will receive a welcome email from "GoTogether" with instructions to login and have access to start searching for families and creating trips.
This entire process can take up to 5 business days.
