NYOS Charter School—Not Your Ordinary School—is a free, public charter school that was founded in 1998 by a group of parents who wanted more out of education for their children. It is through a commitment to our students, our staff and our academic excellence that we have been able to grow to serving more than 1,000 students in PreK through 12th grade.

As a tuition-free, public charter school, NYOS receives about $700 less per student in government funding compared to traditional public schools. NYOS Charter School's academic results are substantially higher than those of surrounding schools, and as a charter school, we rely on the support of our school community to continue our commitment of academic success.

Join us on Thursday, August 30th from 5:30 to 6:30 PM in the Lamar Cafeteria for our Senior & Senior Parent Orientation!

Bring your planners! We’ll give you the rundown on all things senior year, from applying to colleges to Project Graduation and everything in between. You will leave with a senior checklist and many dates on your calendar, including future in-depth information sessions.

College Applications - Learn more about ApplyTexas and the CommonApp, along with information related to college application essays and the SAT/ACT/TSI/ASVAB.
Post-Secondary Options - There are so many paths to take after graduating from high school! Learn more about the Armed Forces, college, universities, technical, and vocational schools.
Senior Events - Now that your student is a Senior, learn more about events related to Prom, our Robing Ceremony, Graduation, and Project Graduation.
