Whether wanting to learn more about your child's homework assignment, getting access to upcoming school events, or seeing what your child worked on during the school day, you can stay up-to-date with the following:
School Website:
To get general info about NYOS Charter School, visit www.nyos.org. On our website, you can learn more about upcoming school events and announcements found on our homepage. You can also download our calendar of events by selecting "School Events" on our homepage, then selecting "Subscribe," and then downloading the calendar for sources like Outlook and Google.
NYOS Notes:
NYOS Charter School distributes a weekly e-newsletter, called NYOS Notes. To sign-up for NYOS Notes, just visit https://tinyurl.com/NYOSNotes and add your email address to our mailing list!
Google Classroom (6th - 12th Grade):
Google Classroom's purpose is to facilitate paperless communication between 6th through 12th grade teachers and students and streamline educational workflow. Within Google Classroom teachers can create classes, post assignments, organize folders, and view work in real-time.
Teacher Communication Apps (PreK - 5th Grade):
A great way to stay in touch with your child’s teacher is to utilize their preferred mobile app for info related to upcoming events and announcements. Some apps offer the ability to share photos or message with class parents. Ask your teacher what they use to get signed up. All apps are easy to use and improve your ability to connect and improve your child’s classroom experience. Examples of apps include: Classroom Dojo, Bloomz, and Smores Remind.
Parent Portal:
Through Parent Portal accounts, you can access student grades (6th - 12th grades only), attendance, and registration information. You can even set-up alerts to let you know if your child is counted absent. To access the Parent Portal, go to www.nyos.org select "Parents/Students," and select "Parent Portal" from the drop-down menu.
