Assignment
Math: All students: Complete the last two questions on the weight sheet we started today. Use complete sentences. If you're working up, continue to work on the Solar System Project.
Reading: Read at least 20 minutes. Have your parents initial your planner, verifying that you read.
Spelling: Practice spelling words. If you practice them in a way that does not produce a product, have your parents initial your planner, verifying that you practiced.
Writing: Finish the capitalization activity. I can't wait to hear your riddles and jokes.
Weather Concerns: In case of snow or ice, find out what Austin I.S.D. is doing. If they go to school, NYOS goes to school. If they go in late, we do, too. (On a late-start Friday, we end at 3:15!). If they don't go to school, we stay home and play in the snow.
Due:
Assignment
Math: Students working on grade level mass and weight should do the next two pages (2 sides of one piece of paper) in their mass and weight packet. They are welcome to do more if they wish. They are also welcome to work on the Solar System Project if they want to.
Students "working up" on mass and weight can continue the packet they started last night and begin the Solar System Project . (attached)
Reading: Read for at least 20 minutes. Have a parent initial in your planner that you have read. Students are also welcome to spend time working at I-Station, if they prefer. Again, have a parent initial in your planner that you have worked at I-Station.
Spelling/Vocabulary: Students working on the "ea" spelling list should practice spelling the words. We have many ways to practice. If the strategy a student uses does not involve producing a written product, have a parent initial in your planner that you have worked on learning the words.
Some students have already mastered spelling the "ea" list and need to learn to spell the vocabulary words instead.
All students are responsible for knowing the meanings of and using the vocabulary words in the "ex" list.

Assignment
**Math Homework: To get ready for tomorrow's activity, each student needs to bring in a grocery item that is a liquid and one that is a solid. For example, a child could bring in a box of crackers and a can of chicken broth. They will be looking at the labels and packaging to record the metric and standard units of measurement and then putting them in order from least to greatest.
Due:
Assignment
Reading: Read for at least 20 minutes. Record any words whose meaning you infer from context or any conclusions you reach. Be sure to include the clues that led you to that understanding. Have a parent initial your planner to show that they know you read.
OR
Spend at least 20 minutes working at I-Station. Have a parent initial your planner to show that they know you worked there.
Spelling: Finish the sentence assignment and/or choose at least one more way to practice your words so that you will be prepared for tomorrow's test and so that you'll spell these words correctly forever more. :-)
Math: Math is optional tonight since today's math class was spent celebrating your success with fractions. (I hope you enjoyed playing the student-made games!) It would be wonderful if you worked at Think Through Math for at least 20 minutes, but you may choose not to. This is especially true for any students performing in or attending the Talent Show.
Other Business: Return field trip permission slips, Fun Run packets, and Bluebonnet Book Club applications. We're going to have a great Spring!
