NYOS Charter School—Not Your Ordinary School—is a free, public charter school that was founded in 1998 by a group of parents who wanted more out of education for their children. It is through a commitment to our students, our staff and our academic excellence that we have been able to grow to serving more than 1,000 students in PreK through 12th grade.

As a tuition-free, public charter school, NYOS receives about $700 less per student in government funding compared to traditional public schools. NYOS Charter School's academic results are substantially higher than those of surrounding schools, and as a charter school, we rely on the support of our school community to continue our commitment of academic success.

Africa 600-1450.

In groups, create a google doc that will be shared with the class. Your docs must have:

1. Fast Facts - Basic info, geography, dates, notable people . . .

2. SPEC - At least 3 bullet points for social, political, economics, and culture

3. Conclusion including the decline of the empire.

We will work on these today and tomorrow. We will jigsaw on Wednesday.
