On the right, check out my calendar for upcoming assignments and activities. Our Technology Connections Google Classroom is linked with this website, so that updates from our assignments will appear here as well.

Under LINKS, explore boards like the one you see below for core classes and special interests, like Minecraft and Robotics, as well as resources for conducting research, creating content, or learning to code.

Week 1 Quarter 1: July 24 - July 27

This in Technology Class, we explored presentation tools Sutori, Canva, Padlet, and RealtimeBoard as we told the class a bit about ourselves. We designed avatars to use for our online accounts, and we set up our Google Classroom, as we were introduced how to access assignments, turn in projects, and log in and out of accounts on multi-user computers safely and effectively.

In addition, A-day students (my morning classes) began learning how to keyboard correctly. We took a pretest to establish a baseline and learned the importance of and the reasoning behind learning correct finger placement and practicing never ever looking at the keyboard. We use dribble goggles to help us to remember not to look at the keyboard.

This year I am asking that we establish those good habits while I observe those skills directly and help to reinforce good habits as we work through the beginning lessons. Students should NOT be working on their Typing Club lessons at home for the first six weeks of school.
Once I release them to do their Typing Club lessons, that will be the bulk of homework for Technology Applications, with the exception of studying for tests and finishing work that was not completed in class.

Next week in class, we will learn to use productivity tools in our Google Suite effectively. Students will earn badges next week as they master Drive, Docs, and Chrome. B-week students will also receive their Typing Club logins and begin their work on keyboarding.
