NYOS third grade students sold products they created at the annual Economics Fair today. Monies collected will be used for an upcoming study trip and to support the Austin Zoo. Products such as magnets and pet rock paper weights were very creative and useful! Kindergarten, First and Second grade friends enjoyed the opportunity to shop at their third grade friends' booths!

Marathon Kids Dealine Extended

Late yesterday evening, NYOS received the following  notification from the Marathon Kids Program Director-

Due to weather circumstances in several of our marquee cities we've extended the deadline to this Friday, 2/21. You can update your Finisher Data until that date.

If your student did not turn in their Marathon Kids Mileage Log they may turn them in to either Coach Jana Shirley or Coach Andrew Budd at tonight's 4/5 Musical Performance or tomorrow during school hours. Additional information and forms may be found on Coach Shirley's webpage.

On Friday January 31st, NYOS Kindergarten students lead the Chinese New Year celebration with a Dragon Parade! Thanks to Ms. Mary Reilly for coordinating the creation of the beautiful Dragons and the delightful parade!

I joined the NYOS team in 2007 as the Elementary Principal. I received a  Master of Education degree in Educational Administration from Concordia University-Austin  and a Bachelor of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A & M University. My professional background includes first grade teacher, ( Ms. Tintera and I taught together at Wells Branch Elementary for many years), ESL Curriculum Specialist, General Education Homebound Coordinator, and Assistant Principal. My husband and I are the proud parents of four grown children and three grandchildren. In my spare time I enjoy playing with my grandchildren, reading,  and shopping- especially for shoes! My door is always open so please stop by if you have questions, concerns or just want to say hello. I look forward to seeing you on campus!

Welcome to a New School Year!

Our school year is off to a great start!  I'm looking forward to getting to know our new families.  Communication is really important to me.  If you email or call me and do not get a reply within twenty-four hours, assume that I did not get it and contact me again.  Your questions, comments and concerns are important to me.
