NYOS Charter School—Not Your Ordinary School—is a free, public charter school that was founded in 1998 by a group of parents who wanted more out of education for their children. It is through a commitment to our students, our staff and our academic excellence that we have been able to grow to serving more than 1,000 students in PreK through 12th grade.

As a tuition-free, public charter school, NYOS receives about $700 less per student in government funding compared to traditional public schools. NYOS Charter School's academic results are substantially higher than those of surrounding schools, and as a charter school, we rely on the support of our school community to continue our commitment of academic success.

8th-12th Grade Final Exam Schedule

On final exam days, ALL 6th-12th graders will have a half-day on these dates, even though 6th and 7th graders do not have final exams.

All Secondary students will follow this block schedule on exam days:

Block 1: 8:20 AM to 10:30 AM
Block 2: 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM
A Grab and Go Lunch will be provided everyday after testing

Students are able to be exempt from exams if they meet grade and attendance requirements. Exemption forms are due to Ms. Benoit by Wednesday, May 18th.
