About Mr. Lee
My name is Robin Lee, and I will be teaching 8th Grade English and Language Arts for the 2020-2021 academic year. I can't wait to meet you parents, and most of all, students!
I grew up in the Dallas Fort-Worth area and attended high school at Martin High School. After high school, I attended the University of Texas at Austin initially pursuing a degree in Computer Science - but realized my passion lay in teaching through the guidance of some of my old teachers. I graduated from UT Austin's UTeach program with a Bachelor's in Geography and Minor in Education, and I'm happy to bring the joys of reading and writing into the classroom! My mission as a teacher is to give every student the tools to succeed as critical thinkers and future world changers.
Outside of school, I enjoy reading, gardening, spending time outdoors, and playing the guitar.
I believe that a healthy classroom environment is one that prizes inquisitiveness and a thirst for promoting life-long learning. It is my goal to facilitate a classroom culture where every student is provided with a safe and inclusive opportunity to learn more about themselves, their peers, and the world.
In our class we will develop oral language, vocabulary, reading, writing, and research skills through critical analysis and exposure to multiple literary genres. Practicing daily Reading Comprehension and Writing will be core to our literary journey. We will also be expanding our communication skills with one another and growing our ability to engage with challenging texts and ideas.

I am more than happy to hold parent-teacher conferences and 1:1 meetings with students as often as possible through Google Meets, Zoom, or in-person. If there are any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to reach out anytime.
