NYOS Charter School—Not Your Ordinary School—is a free, public charter school that was founded in 1998 by a group of parents who wanted more out of education for their children. It is through a commitment to our students, our staff and our academic excellence that we have been able to grow to serving more than 1,000 students in PreK through 12th grade.

As a tuition-free, public charter school, NYOS receives about $700 less per student in government funding compared to traditional public schools. NYOS Charter School's academic results are substantially higher than those of surrounding schools, and as a charter school, we rely on the support of our school community to continue our commitment of academic success.

Board Agendas and Public Comment

School Board meeting agendas are posted publicly 72 hours prior to the board meeting. Agendas are displayed physically on campus and on the NYOS website. Each posted agenda contains a public comment sign-up link. Individuals may sign-up online using the link or may sign-up in person at the meeting location. Sign-up is available until the time the board meeting begins. The in-person sign up sheet is available as early as 30 minutes prior to the meeting start time.
