NYOS Charter School—Not Your Ordinary School—is a free, public charter school that was founded in 1998 by a group of parents who wanted more out of education for their children. It is through a commitment to our students, our staff and our academic excellence that we have been able to grow to serving more than 1,000 students in PreK through 12th grade.

As a tuition-free, public charter school, NYOS receives about $700 less per student in government funding compared to traditional public schools. NYOS Charter School's academic results are substantially higher than those of surrounding schools, and as a charter school, we rely on the support of our school community to continue our commitment of academic success.

NYOS students who will be in middle school in 2020 (current 5th - 7th grade students) are invited to attend a STEM Trip to San Francisco in 2020! Led by Ms. Lovas, students will have the opportunity to learn outside of the classroom while exploring a new city with classmates!

To learn more about this trip, including the itinerary, inclusions, and trip costs, parents are invited to attend an Enrollment Meeting next Thursday, October 25th at 6:00pm in Lamar Building A, Classroom #115.
