 COURSE DESCRIPTION

Instructional Practices is a field-based teacher preparation course which provides students with background knowledge of child and adolescent developmental principles as well as principles of effective teaching and training practices.  Following the initial classroom orientation phase; student-interns will work under the joint direction and supervision of Mrs. Kelley and an assigned exemplary educator-mentor elementary teacher in direct instructional roles with elementary and middle school students. Instructional Practices students will observe and assist teachers planning lessons, prepare instructional materials, direct individualized and group instruction.

 

CLASS REQUIREMENTS

This course is for Junior or Senior, at least age 16. The required prerequisite course is Principles of Education & Training and Human Growth and Development.  Credits: 2
