Hello Parents and Guardians!
My name is Jeanne Wehde, and I will be your 8th grader’s United States History Teacher.
First off, I am very excited to be your child’s teacher.
Secondly, while I hope to meet each and every one of you very soon, I wanted to introduce myself to you all. I was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas. I moved to Central Texas to attend school at Southwestern University. Go Pirates! I graduated in December of 2014 with a B.A. in History and a minor in education. Prior to graduating, I realized teaching history was my passion so I applied to a graduate program in education at Texas State University. Thankfully, I was accepted and have been working on my Masters of Education since January of 2015. Throughout that time, I have interned and student taught in history classes with Round Rock ISD. I started teaching at NYOS last December and am looking forward to my first full year of teaching.
As I enter this year of teaching, my goal will be to help your students reach their full potential. I will encourage them to think critically about U.S. History and the world around them. I also believe that students excel when expectations are set high. Therefore, I will hold your child accountable for the highest level of academic achievement. Every day I am with the kids, I will be working to make sure they reach that level. You have my promise to do everything in my power to ensure that your student reaches his/her fullest potential.
I consider it important to communicate with parents. The easiest way to contact me is through email. I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org. I will also return phone calls ((512) 583-6967) and am happy to meet with parents in person. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
